CURRICULUM PROVISION: JUNIOR SCHOOL

    Junior School Curriculum

     Senior School Curriculum

     College Curriculum

At Howell’s we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum.  In Early Years we follow the QCXA desirable Outcomes.  The girls cover the seven areas of learning, which are:
Language, Literacy and Communication
Mathematical Development
Knowledge and Understanding of the World Creative Development
Personal Health and Social Education
Physical Development
Multicultural Awareness
The girls also receive Welsh lessons.

In Key Stages 1 and 2 we mainly follow the National Curriculum and national literacy and numeric strategies.  We offer the following subjects at Key Stages 1 and 2: English, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, Religious Studies, Humanities, Art, Design Technology, Music, Physical Education, Welsh, PSHE and Creativity.  In addition Year 6 pupils study French, German and Spanish on a termly basis.

The whole curriculum has a Welsh flavour and we encourage the Curriculum Cymreig from Nursery to Year 6.  We are introducing elements of the Forest Schools' Approach to maximise our use of the outdoor environment.
