Badminton at the Cardiff Games

Four students in Years 9 and 10 competed in the Cardiff Games County Badminton competition. Howell's had a smooth ride into the semi finals, beating Llanishen High School and Sir Richard Gwyn School 5-0 and 5-0. In the quarter finals, games were slightly closer, and we won 5-0 again. Howell's went through to the finals facing Ysgol Glantaf. Emily (Yr 10) had a very convincing win against her opponent. In our next two matches we lost the single and doubles. We then played our 1st seeded player with our 3rd seeded player, who smashed down anything in the air to win. Ellora and Sri fought gallantly, producing excellent rallies, they varied their shots around the court, unfortunately lost 13-11 in the last match of the final. Howell's came a very close 2nd place.
