On Wednesday 20th December, the whole school, from Nursery to College, congregated in the Sports Hall for a very special end of term Christmas Assembly. It was a fun filled occasion during which Mrs Davis read our lovely school dog Disney’s excellent end-of-term report, and following the canine theme Mrs Chyba talked about her own dog, Ruby, and read a poem about puppies at Christmas. We said goodbye to the Junior School’s amazing Mrs K, who is leaving us to start a new life in Spain and we wish her the very best for the future. Mr Walters announced the winners of the Disney-themed Senior School Christmas Tree competition. The standard of entries was extremely high which made it a very tough competition to judge and the winners were:
Year 7: 7H Origami Star
Year 8: 8S Minnie Mouse
Year 9: 9L Second Star to the Right
Year 10: 10H Pixie Hollow
Year 11: 11L Wish Upon A Star – which was also the overall winner
There was great excitement as Mrs Davis, Mr Read and Mrs Yilmaz unveiled the Snow Dogs we recently purchased, Starry Night and Me Is Who I Am in support of the excellent charity Ty Hafan.
As always there were fantastic festive performances from the orchestra, the Performing Arts Group, Katie Jenkins and the Junior School girls. Assembly culminated in an unforgettable rendition of I Am What I Am by Mrs Scott and her backing singers and dancers (our wonderful catering team).
