Junior Cross Country Runners

A bright and mild autumn morning was the scene for the annual Sport Cardiff Cross-Country Challenge on the 12th October, conveniently held at Llandaff Fields this year. Twenty-four girls from Year 5 and 6 took on the long-distance run, many of whom were experiencing the challenge for the first time. The Year 5 team were up first and performed outstandingly on the 1600m course, finishing with four girls in the top eight positions. This was a remarkable achievement in a race of over 80 girls! Year 6 also performed very well and finished with 11 girls in the top 40 runners (80+ girls in the 2000m race). It was a fantastic morning of running for all 24 girls that competed! The Cardiff Cross-Country finals are now on the horizon, along with the Christmas Fun Run! Keep running everyone!
