CARDIFF GAMES FITNESS COMPETITION
On Thursday 9th February, nine girls from Year 7, six from Year 8 (Fiona B, Rhianne H and Coco P, Emma S, Millie C and Jennifer E) and three from Year 9 (Lucy C, Evie O and Shayanna S) took part in the Cardiff Games Fitness competition at Sakura Fitness in Llanishen. Year 7 took part in the morning, with the teams from Year 8 and 9 competing in the afternoon.
There were 10 activity stations where each member of the team tried to score as many points as they could in a minute. The activity stations included sit ups, long jump, synchronised burpees, and rowing.  All team points counted towards the final score and the top five teams went into the final round.
In the morning, the Year 7 girls came 1st and 2nd  and in the afternoon, the Year 9 team made it to the final, where they beat teams from Bryn Hafren and Cathays High School to first place. The girls had an amazing afternoon and are looking forwards to their next fitness competition

NETBALL
Last weekend we played Christ College Brecon, with teams from Year 7, Year 8, Year 9 and a mixed U.16 team. The weather was bright and crisp, and the Year 8 team made good use of the outside courts at Howell’s beating Christ College 19-2. The Year 7 team played inside, winning 32-4
The Year 9 and U.16 team travelled to Christ College. We used this as a training exercise for the Year 9 team, who played CCB Year 11s, in preparation for their county prelims competition next week.
The U. 16 team played a strong Christ College team and lost 24-15
A great weekend of sport was had by all and a wonderful tea, provided by both schools, was gratefully received.

On Monday 6th February, the Senior Netball team took part in the County netball tournament. They performed valiantly against extremely strong competition and came 3rd in their group.

Year 9 Netball girls played Radyr's Year 10 team on Thurs 8th February, resulting in a draw. The Year 7s also played the Radyr Year 7 team, losing in a close fought match.

CROSS COUNTRY
We took 13 girls to the Cardiff Cross Country Championships on Wednesday 8th February. The weather was amazing, with bright blue skies however the ground was very muddy with some competitors losing shoes on the course. Luckily all of our girls kept their shoes on!! Fiona B continued her impressive season with a 7th in the Year 8 race.
