The Search for the Bard 2017

Many congratulations to all students who entered the 2017 competition. The poems were entertaining and atmospheric.

This year, to link with the theme of happiness, girls in Year 7-9 were given the title ‘Over the Rainbow’ and students from Year 10 – 13 were given a phrase from Shakespeare’s play, ‘The Tempest’, that focused on the concept of a Brave New World. Several of these entries were inspired—if that’s quite the right word!—by current global politics. The English Department thoroughly enjoyed reading the entries which were all so good that making the final decision was a very difficult job. Well done to everyone.

Here are the winners:

2017 KS3 Bard – Imogen F.
2017 Bard – Harriet W.
