Thirty-eight Year 10 History students have just enjoyed a four day tour to the First World War Battlefields in France and Belgium. They stayed in historic Ypres and one of the many highlights of the trip was the chance to attend the Last Post Ceremony at the Menin Gate at Ypres, a simple but moving tribute to the courage and self-sacrifice of those who fell in defence of their town, which takes place every evening at 8pm.We held our own commemorative ceremony at the Welsh Dragon memorial at Mametz Wood.
