On Wednesday 15th March, Year 13 History students travelled to Birmingham to attend a series of lectures on Nazi Germany. Professor Aristotle Kallis gave a lecture on why opposition to the Nazi regime was unsuccessful; Professor Corey Ross discussed whether Hitler was a 'weak dictator'; Dr Armin Grubacher questioned whether the Nazis transformed the German economy; and Dr Tara Windsor examined the varied impact of the Nazi regime on women. All the lectures presented valuable information and interpretations directly relevant to the A level course, and students experienced a foretaste of university teaching. It was a very useful and interesting day.
