Year 8 climb Pen Y Fan to raise funds for Martha’s place

On Tuesday 27th June, the whole of Year 8 along with parents, staff and friends travelled to the Brecon Beacons for the inaugural Martha’s Walk to raise funds for Martha’s Place, the small quad off the Covered Way (the corridor that links the Day Room and the science labs), which is going to be transformed into a quiet space for contemplation in memory of Martha Pugh. Everyone set off at 9.15am and the group, all dressed in shades of Martha's favourite blue, climbed to the top of Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. When they reached the summit, the girls were filmed and photographed forming a letter M. Many congratulations and thanks to everyone who took part and we very much look forward to next year’s walk.
