The Nursery girls had a surprise when they returned after the holiday. They found some netting, shells, old coins, a pearl necklace and a message in a bottle and underneath the netting they found a fish tank, but there were no fish! The message in the bottle said that Iolo and Taff have been taken across the deep blue sea and the girls are going to have to search high and low for clues.
In Forest School the girls found Miss Thomas’ tortoise, Herby, basking in the warm sun in the garden next to the willow dome. They all had a turn holding her carefully. She is now 50 years old and her favourite food is lettuce. Miss Thomas said that Herby especially likes digging and is very good at it because she has had lots of practice in the garden. Last winter she choose to hibernate under a tree in the garden. She dug a little hole and curled up tight under her shell.
On Friday the Nursery and Reception girls had a little concert from Year 4, who have been learning about India. They showed the younger girls their Ganesh elephant heads which were quite extraordinary and beautiful. Everyone was then treated to the song 'Summertime', sung by Thandi, which moved Mrs Scott to tears.
