Careers Convention 2016

The biennial Careers Convention was a hive of activity on Wednesday 16th November, with 55 stalls representing many specialised careers as well as a host of courses highlighted by visiting universities. Everyone involved in delivering this event worked extremely hard to make it successful. The exhibitors were kept busy with a range of in depth questions from our young people. Some of the most searching questions were from Years 5 and 6.

"I have learnt that in order to study law at university, you don't have to take a specific A level." Megan C, year 7.

"This gave me a better idea of what I want to be when I am older." Eleanor J, year 8

"I have learnt that it is important to have a good idea of what of I want to do with my future." Ava F, year 9

"The year 10 students were able to walk around and talk to a huge variety of different professionals about their career. It allowed us to ask important questions and find out about career paths we might not have heard about before. It was very eye opening and interesting to talk to such highly qualified and experienced people about our chosen fields. Out of fifty five stalls we were bound to find one that grabbed our attention!"
Lauren H, year 10

"I found the different types of careers really helpful. There were specialised stalls for different jobs. I went to Psychology and the lady was very helpful in guiding me on what to do in University and the different types of Psychology that might interest me."
Grace D, year 11

"I have learnt that universities offer many different paths with languages." Georgie F, year 12

"I learnt about a 3D Printer and the law."  Bindu D, year 6

"I have learnt being a doctor can be hard work!" Sophie D, year 6

"I have learnt that universities offer lots of different choices for a career." Jess C, Emily T and Grace C, year 5.

"Kids are thinking about their careers at a much younger age than when I was in school."  Mrs L  Allen, Swansea Accountancy Ltd
