Head Of the River Fours Race

On Saturday 12th November it was the Head Of the River Fours Race, and Caitlan W (Year 11) rowed at bow in the Howell’s School, Llandaff boat as part of a J18 all-girls crew. The race, which is the Oxford/Cambridge boat race course in reverse, is rowed over a distance of 7km from Mortlake to Putney and has over 500 boats competing in different categories. It was an amazing experience for all the crew, and the girls rowed fantastically. They were 5th with 1700m to go, but alas were brought to a standstill when they hit debris in the river. They still posted a great time and are looking forward to the next race. Congratulations to all the crew, we can't wait to see the Howell's boat back on the water again soon!
