URDD NATIONAL SWIMMING FINALS 2017

Congratulations to our Year 5/6 relay swimming team, who competed in the 2017 Urdd National Swimming Gala, at Cardiff International Pool, on Saturday 21st January.

Achieving qualification for this national event was a tough task given the amount of swimming talent across Wales, so it was especially gratifying for our team to be placed a respectable 8th out of 18 finalists in the freestyle and medley relays, they even managed to knock six seconds off their freestyle qualifying time which was truly amazing.  The team comprised of Honor, Daisy and Amber from Year 5 and Abi M from Year 6.  Despite the pressure of competing in a national final, the four girls were totally focused on their races and were in every sense of the word a team, encouraging and willing each other along throughout both events. They really were a credit to the school, well done, girls!
