Howell's Equestrian Team had superb weather for the recent National Schools’ Equestrian Association Show Jumping competition on Sunday 4th May at Summerhouse in Gloucester, organised by Pinewood School.
The team rode superbly and the girls were up against a huge amount of competition. The event attracted over 300 competitors and classes of over 60 entrants. Huge congratulations go to Ellie M. (Year 7)) who won the 60cm class on her bay pony Topgun Maverick. They were presented with a trophy, rosette and a large professional photo of them both jumping the course. Ellie went on to jump exceptionally well in the 70cm class, only 6 seconds slower than the winning pair. Louise S. (Year 8) clipped a pole in the 70cm class resulting in 4 faults, but went clear at 80cm on Cwmbeth Miracle.
The next NSEA SJ competition in our area is on 8th June at Kings in Bromyard. Anyone who would like to join the team should contact Frau Sadler by email: dawn.sadler@how.gdst.net.
