Howell’s Equestrian Team competes in National Schools’ competition

Sunday 8th June saw Howell’s Equestrian Team competing at the National Schools’ Equestrian Association showjumping competition at King’s Equestrian Centre, Bromyard. A course walk at 8am meant an incredibly early 4.30am start from home! Ellie M (Year 7) was joined by new team member Ceinwen W (Year 7), jumping at 60cm. This was a tricky little course and both horse and rider combinations jumped very well, despite a slight navigation problem! The girls were joined by Louise S (Year 8) for the 70 cm course which they jumped as a team. This again was not the easiest with a difficult double (too far for 2 comfortable strides, too short for 3!) and a related distance, set at an angle. Although not in the ribbons, all the girls acquitted themselves very well and gained some valuable experience.

We are always looking for new team members of all abilities.  Anyone interested in competing should contact Frau Sadler [dawn.sadler@how.gdst.net]. Team members should have their own pony/ horse and transport.
