On Thursday 22nd May, we watched anxiously as the rain fell, or rather, poured - we were supposed to be camping on the field for the Howell's Award residential! By 3pm, the decision was made: it would have to be an indoor sleepover. Although it was a shame not to be able to have fun erecting the tents, Year 8 launched into their quiz with gusto and were surprisingly good at naming different breeds of dog!
Miss Batchelor introduced the year group to a new game with hilarious results, and there was even a dance-off. Once inside the library, the students competed as houses in a quiz to gain help for the house bonding competition; the lucky winners, Lewis, had lots of materials to help them construct a protective coating for their egg, E(d)ggar, who was to be dropped from the library window. The others, of course, had a few more problems because they had fewer materials with which to work, but two of the four eggs survived the fall in their expertly made casings!
Once the pizza arrived, we all snuggled into pyjamas to watch 'Frozen'. The teachers enjoyed it too! Congratulations to Lewis, who won the house points competition for the night.
