Nursery news, 8th-12th September

It has been lovely to see our 'old' girls and to welcome our new girls to Nursery.  Our adventure into our topic 'Twit Too Hoo' has already started.  On Monday the girls came up with a fantastic idea for our home corner - "It could be a cave".  They made bubble maps to show their ideas and there were lots of discussions about what they would like to have inside their cave.  We have been reading and finding out about owls and have been learning about other animals that are nocturnal.

Ddraig Gwyrdd is a new visitor to Nursery and he is trying to learn Welsh so that he can speak to his Welsh cousin Ddraig Goch.  We have taught him to say 'Bore da'.

The builders came to finish off our new climbing frame and to clear away all the materials. It inspired us to set up our building area and we built lots of structures: a house for big bear and little bear and "an enormous house for all of us to fit in".  We used the measuring tape to take measurements, the phone to order more materials and we enjoyed drawing our designs using the clipboard.  We also built walls to measure our height.
