Year 3 had a terrific time with Welsh artist, Helen Elliott on Thursday 20th November. She travelled to school from Newcastle Emlyn, where her gallery is based, for a day of exciting creativity. She began by explaining how she is inspired by the Welsh landscape, particularly the seascapes of Wales. Helen then demonstrated how she works in acrylics and chalks and even uses baby wipes to wipe away any mistakes. She is known as a naïve artist - drawing with bold, bright colours and a black outline. Everyone had a go at using acrylics on canvas and became very artistic drawing their own designs. A great day was had by all!
