Hywelians are interviewed about their schooldays more than 70 years ago!

On Thursday, 25th April, we welcomed three Hywelians to school to take part in our new Oral History project. We plan to interview a small group of Hywelians from a particular era each year and to record their reminiscences on film. The ladies involved were Mrs Enfys Brown, Mrs Josephine Rawlins and Mrs Barbara Forte, and they were all at school during the late 1930s and 1940s. They were interviewed by four girls from Year 8 – Katie J, Riya K, Sasha N. and Isobel O. – and by Mrs Sully. They were extremely interesting to listen to and all have extraordinarily detailed memories of their schooldays and life at school during the war.  We are extremely grateful to them for coming and sharing their knowledge with us. An edited version of the film will be shown in an assembly on “Founders’ Friday” at the end of term and we all look forward to seeing it.
