British Schools Ski Championships

On the 18th of November, Lucy M (Year 8) , Laura H (Year 8) and I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Edinburgh to represent Howell's in the British Schools Ski Championships.
We arrived a day early to tackle the course at perhaps the steepest dry ski-slope we had ever encountered. However, several cups of hot chocolate and plenty of brownies later, we were ready for the competition the next day. After driving to the slope bright and early, we prepared for an inspection of the course (jam-packed with false gates and tricky turns), before, all too soon, it was time to compete. Being number 8, I was the first of our team to face the course in timed conditions but thankfully, we all made it down safely with counted times.
While it was probably the most terrifying competition we had ever competed in (for me, at least), we are all so grateful for the opportunity, and hope to be lucky enough to compete again next year.
