New this year, our first GCHQ meeting of Year 8-10 girls interested in exploring challenging ideas took place on Tuesday 10th September considering the question: What’s so bad about being wrong? To quote Pulitzer Prize winning journalist and author Kathryn Schulz, “It is possible to step outside that feeling [of being right] and if you can do so, it is the single greatest moral, intellectual and creative leap you can make." With that as a base, the girls discussed how our thinking is influenced by confirmation bias, social media algorithms and childhood experiences.
