Gymnastics News November 2018

Last weekend our gymnasts competed in the ISGA 2 Piece National Qualifier at the Stamford Endowed School. The U11 team consisted of: Sophia, Georgina, Issy, Aleighka and Daisy Mo performed with great finesse. Their scores were compelling. The U11 team finished in 8th place – the highest placing for a Welsh school in this competition, they have now qualified for the Independent School 5 Piece National Championships in St Catherine’s School in Guildford on Saturday 2nd March.

Jacky performed as an U9 individual and she competed with the U11 team and performed outstandingly on vault scoring 8.1! She displayed a strong skill set on floor, but didn’t quite score enough to make it to the medal podium this time.

The U13 team, made up of Olivia C, Olivia R, Hannah and Aseel, had to perform a new routine on the floor. The highest score was 8.1 which was brilliant. On the vault we scored an 8.8 which was very impressive. Overall the U13’s finished in 12th place qualifying for the Challenge Cup which is being held in Vinehall School on the 20th January.
