Smashed It!

As the first set started at Wimbledon on Monday 1st July, Howell’s held its very own tennis event, Smashed It!, for Year 3 from local primary schools. The day was based around the Miss-Hits programme, which has been developed by top tennis coach Judy Murray, which encourages girls to think that being sporty is as cool as it is healthy.   It was a pleasure to welcome pupils and their teachers from Herbert Thompson, Lansdowne, Ysgol Pencae, Radnor and St Mary the Virgin primary schools to Howell’s. The day, led by Mrs Crawford and the Sport Department, was a great success during which the girls made new friends, gained new skills, built their confidence and most importantly had lot of fun.  As well as enjoying a delicious lunch, each participant was presented with a medal in recognition of the contribution to the day. Thank you to Mrs Crawford, Mrs Eling and the Sport Department for all their hard work creating this fantastic day. Many thanks also to HSBC who generously funded the event.
