On Thursday 17th October, we made the journey to Caerphilly for Super Ambassador Training. We met the Children’s Commissioner for Wales, Sally Holland, who told us all about her job. The day consisted of lots of games, teaching us about what we can do to promote the ‘Rights of the Child’ in our own schools. We found out that 20th November is United Nations Universal Children’s Day. November 20th is an important date as it is the date in 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It is also the date in 1989 when the UN General assembly adopted the Convention on the Rights of the Child and we are planning to mark this important day in school. The day ended building dens out of cardboard boxes! We were really inspired by the day and look forward to sharing what we learnt with the girls very soon.
