The Under 16 Hockey Team were crowned champions of Cardiff & The Vale of Glamorgan on Tuesday 27th November following a thrilling three-way final with Ysgol Gyfun Glantaf and Ysgol Gyfun Bro Morgannwg at the National Hockey Centre. After playing out a well contested 2-2 draw with Glantaf (last year's Under 16 Welsh Champions), Howell's played some superb hockey to defeat Bro Morgannwg 8-0. As the title was to be decided on goal difference, Glantaf needed to better the scoreline achieved by Howells in the last game of the day but could only manage a 3-0 victory against the Vale school in what was another high quality game of hockey. This meant that Howell's were the overall victors, progressing to February's national final in Swansea. It was another county triumph for this group of students, who have reigned supreme in the county for four years now, with titles in Year 8, Year 9 and Year 10 already under their belts. They will hope to add the Under 16 National Championship to the Under 14 Championship they won in 2017. Best of luck, girls!
