Congratulations to Kavya B, Aparna C, Georgia G, Sarah H, Alana K, Sri O and Emily W in Year 10 who were presented with a certificate at an Awards Ceremony on Saturday 23rd March for their participation in the Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses at the University of South Wales during the Spring Term. The programme of classes included Mathematically Investigating a Crime Scene, Maths at the Races, The Mathematics of the Rock Guitar, Mathematical Puzzles, Chaotic Mathematics and Knots and Dots .
Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses are designed to encourage, inspire and engage students in the art and practice of mathematics. The highly interactive sessions introduce students to aspects or applications of mathematics which may not usually be covered in the school curriculum, and open young people’s eyes to the excitement, beauty and real-world value of mathematics.
