The Urdd National Swimming Finals took place at Cardiff International Pool on Saturday 25th January in front of a capacity audience. Team Howell’s, who represented Cardiff and The Vale, certainly showed an abundance of talent! Our Year 4 Medley Relay Team, comprising of Sophie D, Georgina G, Mai G and Isabella T, were in fine form reducing their qualifying time by 11 seconds. Our Year 5 and 6 swimmers were also truly amazing, Mollie D and Francesca B both had sensational swims in their individual events as did our Freestyle Relay Team, Mollie D, Phoebe C, Isabella C, Elizabeth S, and with incredible determination and remarkable sprinting our Medley Relay Team, Francesca B, Isabella C, Nell C-P and Mollie D, claimed bronze medals. Achieving qualification for this national event was a tough task given the amount of swimming talent across Wales but it was very much a team effort with all our swimmers putting in outstanding performances when the pressure was on. Well done, girls!
