On 18th January 2016 the Year 9 hockey team took part in the annual Cardiff and Vale Hockey Tournament. The pool that Howell’s took part in included Ysgol Plasmawr and Fitzalan High School. The team played against Plasmawr first and, in a very close fought game with attempts at goal both ends and an excellent save from Ffion H., the final score was a 0-0 draw. The next match against Fitzalan was a tough game. The Fitzalan girls were incredibly tenacious making it very difficult for Howell’s to get away and score. However, Talia G. finally managed to score from two short corners, meaning that Howell’s won the match 2-0. Plasmawr won this pool by beating Fitzalan in the last game.
