Howell’s students win the Southern England and Welsh heat of BPW Public Speaking Competition.

On Sunday 28th February a team of three College students, Caitlin D. (Year 12), Sasha Y.(Year 12), and Sian-Azilis E. (Year 13), took part in the Southern England and Wales heat of the BPW Public Speaking Competition in Bristol.

Caitlin took the role of chair and Sasha was the giver of the vote of thanks. Sian had stepped in at the last minute to take the role of speaker and made an outstanding speech on “Can terrorism ever be justified?”. She added her own anecdotes and answered challenging questions confidently. The whole team performed with great maturity and assurance to win the competition, beating schools including Badminton School in Bristol and Sheldon School in Chippenham. Sian also won the prize for Outstanding Participant. The team now looks forward to competing in the national finals in March.
