University of South Wales KS3 Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses 2016

Congratulations to the 18 students in Year 9 who were presented with a certificate at an Awards Ceremony on the first Saturday of the Easter holidays for their participation in the Mathematics Masterclasses at the University of South Wales during the Spring Term. The programme of classes included:

  • Mathematical Puzzles
  • Origami Mathematics
  • Juggling Mathematics
  • Google and the Ipad
  • Enigma Mathematics
  • Medicinal Mathematics

Royal Institution Mathematics Masterclasses are designed to encourage, inspire and engage students in the art and practice of mathematics. The highly interactive sessions introduce students to aspects or applications of maths which may not usually be covered in the school curriculum, and open young people’s eyes to the excitement, beauty and real-world value of mathematics.
