Year 1 Trip to Tesco

On Monday 11th April Year 1 started the summer term by taking a trip to Tesco. They went on a special 'Farm to Fork' trail around the store. The girls have recounted their trip for the newsletter.

"First of all we went the bakery and we made our own bread" Amelia.
"We learnt how we make bread, how it cooks and how it rises" Isabella.
"We looked at all the different types of bread that they make in Tesco and saw how they had risen by being in a warm place. The yeast made them rise" Illeana.
"We asked the baker to make us some special bread, it was a plaited loaf and we ate it in the afternoon at school" Charlotte Hu.

"Next we went to the fisherman and we learnt about fish" Mina.
"We found out that some fish could really hurt you by cutting you with a sharp bit on their back and on the gills.
"The fish was called a Bass" Charlotte Ha.
"We got to try some little fish called cockles. Lots of us really enjoyed them," Heidi.

"We then went to the cheese place and tried some cheese that said 'Danger' on it!" Eloise.
"We tasted Apple cheese and it was tasty" Pihu.
"French cheese was my favourite cheese" Seren.
"I liked the stinky cheese" Isabella.

The girls were able to try 5 different cheeses, these were: Welsh cheddar, Smoked English Applewood, French Brie, a Danish blue cheese labelled 'Beware' and Mexican Mexicana Extra Hot which was labelled 'Danger'. The last cheese was incredibly hot and described as being "Yuck" by Alex.

The girls had a wonderful trip and thoroughly enjoyed their morning at Tesco. Many thanks to the helpers who accompanied us on our trip.
