Stunning A-level Results at Howell's School, Llandaff GDST

An impressive 111 students at Howell's School Llandaff sat their A-levels this summer, the largest cohort of an independent school in Wales, with 339 actual A-Level entries. This year 21% of all results were at the highest A* grade, with 51% receiving A*- A grades.  In total 81% of all results were A*- B grades and 82% of students who studied for an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) gained A*- A grades.

Two of this year's leavers will be taking up places at Cambridge, where Laura B. will read Medicine and Kirsten O. is set to read Chemical Engineering. Headed to Oxford are Hannah W. who will read Law and Julia M., who has a place to read German, and Reem A., who will be studying Classics.

Howell's College student Will B., has turned down a place to read Law at Oriel College, Oxford and will be heading to Stanford University, California, after gaining a stunning four A*s in French, History, Mathematics and Further Mathematics and an A in English.

Howell's Principal, Sally Davis, said: "I am absolutely delighted for all our students that their dedication and hard work have paid off, yielding such a strong set of results. Everyone at Howell's feels very proud of them for their achievements and we look forward to seeing what they all do next."

We are also immensely proud of Alumna Hannah Mills who collects her Olympic Gold Medal later this afternoon having completed her final sailing race in Rio. Hannah is our guest speaker at this year’s Prizegiving event in September where we hope she will inspire our leavers with her experiences.
