Having been selected from the European Youth Parliament Regional Session held in Cardiff in February, nine College students went forward to the UK Session held at Liverpool Hope University on July 2nd-5th. Kirsten, Stuti, Hannah, Anisa, Sian-Azilis, Jonathan, Kaya, Dan and Leo were split up to work in committees with delegates from around the UK to draft resolutions and put them before the General Assembly. All the Howell’s team played a very active part, making defence and attack speeches, putting forward proposals to amend operative clauses and defending their committees’ proposals. Meanwhile, the judges were assessing how well they had researched the issues, their team-working skills, their analytical ability and how coherently they presented their arguments. We were delighted that the team was selected to represent the UK at the International European Youth Parliament to be held in Yerevan, Armenia, in November. An exciting prospect - well done, Howell’s delegates!
