On Thursday 9th July the annual Senior School Summer Concert, which showcased the musical talents of our students in Years 7-10, took place. This year’s theme was ‘Jazz, Blues, Rock and Pop’ and was compered by Dr Morris. There were some stunning performances from the soloists and smaller ensembles that were thoroughly entertaining and enjoyed by all. The Repertoire Orchestra kicked off the Jazz section of the concert with All That Jazz and Year 10 dazzled the audience in the Pop section with their own arrangement called Techno B’Rock, a fusion of Baroque music meets Techno, complete with glow sticks! The Youth Choir also performed several songs, including Shake it off with a dance routine that Taylor Swift would have proud of, from Lili J., Olivia D., Lily R. and Alice H. in Year 7. One of the many highlights of the concert was the staff’s performance of Michael Jackson’s hit Thriller! Their amazing song and dance routine also included a rendition of Gangnam Style, now suitably renamed Howell’s Llandaff Style! Many thanks to all staff and students for their hard work to make it such a successful concert.
