Nia M-R. and Sasha Y. represented Howell's in the Cardiff round of the Wales Schools' Debating Championships on Wednesday, 21st October. They were given the motion 'The government should increase subsidies for nuclear power to accelerate the move away from fossil fuels' to propose. They argued clearly and cogently, citing a wealth of evidence to support the case they had been given to argue. They also chaired a debate on whether prisoners should be allowed to vote. At the end of a long afternoon of four debates, the girls were delighted to hear that they had won through to the quarter finals. Well done, girls!
