Year 1 had three very exciting visitors today: Lydia, Changying and Gigi's mums came in to tell us all about Chinese New Year, their traditions and how they will be celebrating.
The girls learnt about the origins of Chinese New Year Celebrations: Nian, the monster, who is scared away with loud and bright fireworks. Everyone painted good luck wishes with traditional style brushes and ink, tried on beautiful Chinese dresses and outfits and learnt to say happy new year in Mandarin.
Thank you so much to these wonderful mums. We learnt so much and are very grateful for the very kind gifts of rabbit charms and lucky red envelopes.
