We were delighted to hear that A Company of Sirens will be opening its production of A Beautiful Rhythm of Life and Death in Chapter Arts Centre over the May half term holiday. The play, written by Gary Redmond, is about Dorothy Edwards, a Howell’s alumna, who was a writer and member of the Bloomsbury Group. Dorothy was the author of two texts which both describe the marginalisation of women during the inter-war period, Rhapsody and Winter Sonata. Inspired by Dorothy’s fiction, diaries and correspondences, the play explores Welsh identity, class and what it means to be a woman writer.
