On Wednesday 21st March, 39 students from Year 5 and Year 6 at Royal High School, Bath were welcomed at Howell's School by Year 6. After a picnic lunch, the girls either made their way to the netball courts or the swimming pool to take part in some friendly competitions. The swimmers raced in a gala, undertaking a variety of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly races before coming together to compete in some relay races. It was a very busy and enjoyable gala, with many girls getting the chance to demonstrate their expertise in the pool! Outside, 5 netball teams in total competed in a small round-robin tournament where lots of good team-play was on show. After an hour of play, the netball players made their way to the Sports Hall to take part in Miss Batchelor's dance workshop. This proved to be a very popular and active hour, with the swimmers joining later in the afternoon. The day culminated with refreshments in the dining hall, before Royal High School departed at 3.30pm. It was a great afternoon of sport, with so many GDST girls enjoying themselves on the netball court, in the swimming pool and on the dance floor.
