The week before half term was Mental Health Awareness Week, and this year the theme was Kindness. The girls in the Prep School were all encouraged to carry out, or reflect upon a random act of kindness.
We know what incredibly kind and thoughtful girls we have in the Prep School, but we have been particularly heartened at this time by the acts of kindness that they have carried out. These have been shared with us in the past two weeks and we are so proud of all the girls.
We cannot list all of the ‘acts’ but here a few of the ways that our girls have helped and shown kindness to their community, family and friends: baking cakes for key workers, friendship cookies for family, handwritten letters and cards to friends, rainbows coloured for neighbours, virtual friendship walks, secret compliment poems, FaceTime film watching, paper hugs through the post and handmade handbags for every child in the class.
Well done girls on showing how much you care for others and also showing that we can be ‘Together but Apart’. In the words of the Dalai Lama, 'Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.'
