On Monday 11th February, two teams from Howell’s took part in this year’s BPW Public Speaking competition. The aim of this competition is to enact a public meeting in miniature and much of the speaking cannot be prepared but should arise spontaneously out of the evening’s entertainment—a challenging task. All our speakers were a delight to hear and, despite not winning on the night, they were a pleasure to work with. Special recommendations go to Alice B, Year 11, who not only spoke for 6 minutes but also faced 4 minutes of questions from the audience. Congratulations also go to Jasneet D and Morwenna B.
Well done everyone—let’s win next year!
