Breakfast Meeting with Rotary Club of Cardiff: Paul Spencer Award

Wednesday 3rd May was a big day for our College Rotary Interact group. Our outgoing and incoming Interact Presidents (Jess C and Caitlin D, Y13 and Ella FP and Catrin B, Y12) were invited to the ‘Rotary Club of Cardiff Breakfast’ meeting at Whitchurch Golf Club alongside Interactors from The Cathedral School and Whitchurch High School to talk about their fund raising successes this academic year. The Rotary President was very complimentary about the good work carried out by all the Interactors and was very keen to pledge the support of the Rotarians in their upcoming endeavours.
An annual prize in memory of Rotarian Paul Spencer is awarded to a student from each of the three schools, recognising outstanding contributions to Rotary Interact. Emma G. (Y13) was nominated by her peers for this award and was congratulated for her commitment and for all her hard work behind the scenes of every Rotary Interact event throughout her time in the College. Unfortunately Emma had an examination at the time of the presentation and President Caitlin collected it on her behalf. We were delighted to see Emma receive this well-deserved award for all her hard work and enthusiasm in organising charitable fund-raising events. Well done, Emma!
