Carol Services in Llandaff Cathedral

It was a cold and frosty winter's day on Tuesday 12th December, and our attention turned to the wonderfully warm Llandaff Cathedral for two Carol Services of nine lessons and carols. The services included stellar performances from the College Choir, Orchestra, Senior Choir, Wind Ensemble and Youth Choir and the congregational carols certainly raised the roof of the cathedral.  In the afternoon, girls from Years 5 and 6 treated us to charming performances of Bethlehem is Calling and Light a Flame, a piece composed by our very own Mr Cheeke. During the evening service, there was not a seat to be found for the Junior Competition Choir's renditions of Seren Nadolig and Angels Singing. It was the first time many of the Junior School girls had taken part in the Carol Service, and they all sang beautifully and behaved impeccably. Students, staff and governors read the nine lessons and we are very grateful to them all. Thank you to Mrs Phillips, Mrs Thomas, Miss Bowden, Mr Beckett, Mr Cheeke and all the staff who worked so hard to make the day so special. Many thanks also to everyone at the Cathedral for all they did to make the services such a success and for making us so welcome.
