On the evening of Thursday 5th July, the red carpet was rolled out for the second Champions’ Dinner in aid of the Martha Bursary Award. Following an al fresco drink in the quad, guests made their way to the Great Hall where they were treated to a delicious three course dinner provided by our wonderful catering team. Before dinner, we were delighted to hear from the first recipient of the Martha Bursary Award, Amelia, who will start studying in Howell’s Co-Ed College in September. This year we celebrated champions of television drama, and our special guests were stars of the BBC’s flagship medical drama, Casualty. Amanda Mealing (Connie), Derek Thompson (Charlie), and Cathy Shipton (Duffy) regaled guests with stories about their time working on this hugely popular show. Thank you to everyone who supported this hugely important evening and help to change the life of another student.
