Last weekend, the Glamorgan U9s won the South Wales and West of England County Chess Tournament and two of the highest scoring stars were Howell's girls Lara O (Year 4) and Isabella C (Year 3). They were the only girls on the Glamorgan team and were playing on the higher boards so had to face the toughest opposition - both scored 3 wins out of a possible 4 to play a big part in the team's success. They each kept their cool to win exciting last round games as Glamorgan squeezed past main rivals Somerset by half-a-point in the final standings. Well done girls!
