Cross Country League

Tuesday 12th September saw the the first of three cross country league races this term, this one hosted by Bryn Hafren School. Four girls represented Year 8 and 9, and eight girls represented Year 7. Fiona B ran a good race, just missing out on a podium position (4th). Katie finished in 59th with Emma and Freya just behind. The total number of girls running in the race was 180, from schools all across South Wales– a sterling effort made by all.

The Year 7 competition had 170 runners, and the Howell’s girls made a proud first attempt at a large cross country race. Our highest finisher was Anna H in 62nd with the others shortly after. We look forward to seeing the girls all competing in the next event in two weeks’ time.

Remember, if you would like to represent the school and be part of an excellent experience, please see Mrs Crawford who will sign you up for the next race. Cross country club is on a Wednesday lunchtime 13:30-14:00.
