Christmas is fast approaching, so the Eco Team have been spreading the word on how to have a more ethical Christmas. The team have presented many varied ideas to students from the Senior School and College and have even interviewed Santa, for the final whole school Christmas assembly. A reflection from some of the popular ideas have been not to use foil or glitter based wrapping paper, as these are not recyclable. Instead students were introduced to the art of Furoshiki; a Japanese method of wrapping presents using (festive) cloth, which can be reused many times by recipients, thereby reducing waste. Another popular suggestion was to cut up unwanted Christmas cards for present tags for the following year. Finally, there are many Zero Waste shops which are appearing on high streets, so why not visit these to purchase gifts? Merry Christmas to you all.
