Empowering young minds: Debating workshops ignite passion and confidence

Empowering young minds: Debating workshops ignite passion and confidence

This week, Mr Baker, Miss Hawkins, Mr Griffin and Mrs Thelwell have been delighted to lead engaging debating workshops for our Year 7, 8, and 9 students. Throughout these sessions, students have tackled a variety of thought-provoking motions, including 'This house would abolish the monarchy,' 'This house would ban high heels,' and 'This house would ban makeup.'

Our young debaters have honed their skills in structuring and developing arguments, even defending positions they don't personally hold. They have learned the art of civil discourse, gained confidence in public speaking, and thrived in team settings. The level of engagement has been truly overwhelming, showcasing the enthusiasm and potential of our students.
