On the evening of Thursday 15th September, critical thinking was at the heart of the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) presentation evening for Year 13, which saw students presenting their wide ranging projects. The EPQ is a qualification taken by some students and is equivalent to half an A level. The students' choice of topic is free but they must demonstrate that it is academically useful, either related to their current course of study, or their future career.
When guests arrived at 6pm, they enjoyed refreshments while speaking with students about their projects before being taking a seat in the Dining Room to listen to four students as they presented their projects. Tabby P, Zoya A, Rebecca P and Matthew S presented extremely confidently, and answered some tricky questions with poise. Their projects tackled some interesting and difficult issues:
Tabby P: Is Sustainable Fashion the Future?
Zoya A: Should Plastic Surgery be Available on the NHS?
Becky P: A historical perspective on rape and sexual consent in the UK
Matthew S: Nanotechnology and health
Many congratulations to students on their excellent projects and thank you to Mrs Jones for guiding and supporting the students so well.
