We were delighted to learn this week that Elin S, Year 13, has been awarded the 2nd prize in the GDST Johnston Memorial Scholarship. The Scholarship is for students applying to study Law at degree level and was established as a tribute to Lady Johnston, a distinguished lawyer and one of the first women to achieve first class honours in jurisprudence at Oxford University and later Parliamentary Counsel. Candidates from across the Trust schools were interviewed by GDST Trustee Kathryn Davis and Trust Office Legal Advisers Chris Thompson and Hannah Northall. As a winner of this prize, Elin will receive a financial award for three years to support her studies and a week’s work experience with the GDST Legal Department. Well done, Elin!
