This week the girls in Prep have been involved in a variety of activities to help promote positive mental health and positivity. We started the week with a whole school assembly full of positive, happy quotes and music and finished the week by singing together in the Sports Hall for the Easter Assembly. The girls have taken part in a variety of activities through listening to daily ‘happy’ tracks, creating positive messages and posters to display in classes, pairing up with another class for a big sister-little sister walk and talk, guided breathing and mindfulness activities and some even embraced a ‘no pen’ day!
We hope the girls have found these activities useful and our aims for the girls, for the week have been to:
*Know and uses strategies to improve their mental wellbeing or to manage difficult times
*Connect with others positively to benefit all
We want our learners to:
*Be happy so that they can flourish academically and socially
*Feel confident so that they take part fully in school life
*Know how to strengthen their resilience and flexibility to manage challenges
We hope the girls will also carry their learning home and try to have a Heads Up Easter Holiday (noses out of devices and sniffing out some alternative ways to occupy themselves)
A few positive quotes from the girls to leave you with:
'Put a smile in your rucksack for when you need it'
'Failure is not falling down but refusing to get up'
'When you're sad, sing a happy song, there's always a way to make you happy again'
'Don't keep practising until you get it right, keep practising until you can't get it wrong'
